Here is the first interview in my artist profile series. It features Las Vegas painter Karen Jaikowski.
JW: Tell us about this piece.
KJ: This is a piece I dreamt up in my head about a Prima Ballerina from the Russian Ballet. I always loved the Russian Ballet, the beauty and strength tied all in one.
JW: What medium did you use?
KJ: I used acrylics on this piece.
JW: What inspired you to create this piece?
KJ: Mystery, strength, beauty, and perseverance inspired me to do this piece, as I said the Russian Ballet inspired me to do this piece, the hours of work they put in to create a beautiful ballet with the feeling of excitement and awe, I feel I transferred these emotions into the piece.
JW: Is this available for purchase?
KJ: Yes you can purchase online at www.Jaikowskistudios.com or in person at Jaikowski Studios Gallery located at the famous Arts Factory.
JW: If you can choose any location for this amazing piece to have its final hanging place, where will that be?
KJ: I would hang it in the entry way or over the fireplace in the living room, it's a statement piece that will create a dialog with your friends and family.
